  • How do I get these KDCs?

    • Create Your Own: Hatch Digitizer allows you to create your own Keyboard Design Collections.
    • Access Completed Collections: You can access pre-made collections in Hatch Personalizer or Composer.
    • Included Collections: Several KDCs are included with your Hatch license.
    • Purchase Additional Sets: Additional sets are available for purchase on the Hatch website.

  • Where do I find KDCs in Hatch?

    In Hatch Embroidery, the included free Keyboard Design Collections can be accessed through the software's interface:

    1. Navigate to the "Lettering" tab.
    2. Look for the "Keyboard Design Collection" option under “Filter font by” and then select “Type.”
    3. This will display the collections included with the software.

  • How do I create my own KDCs?

    You can create Keyboard Design Collections in the main Hatch Design screen or in the Design Library, with the Design Library being the most popular option. Full instructions are available in our Hatch Academy and online documentation:

  • How to use KDCs for Lettering?

    • Open the "Lettering" tool and select the "Keyboard Design Collection" option.
    • Set your Type to Keyboard Design Collections.
    • Choose from the included collections or any you have purchased or created.
    • Type your text in the provided box, and the software will automatically apply the selected designs to each letter.
    • Customize using the regular font options.

    For monograms, go to the "Letters" tab in the Monogramming tool, enter the initials, and choose the desired layout design.

    Remember, KDCs generally start as regular stitch files, so they have the same editing and resizing limitations as individual stitch files.

  • What do I need to do after I purchase KDCs?

    • Close and reopen the Hatch software.
    • The new collections will be available in the "Keyboard Design Collection" section under the "Lettering" tab.
    • Select a collection and use it like regular Hatch fonts in your projects.
