Advanced Applique
Advanced Appliqué · New in Hatch 4

Appliqué your way, not just the standard way. Open shapes, closed shapes, any shapes.

Most software limits appliqué to closed shapes and requires significant manual work to get there. Advanced Appliqué removes both restrictions: convert existing designs with open or closed shapes in just a few clicks, apply fabric, merge patches, and return to the original design if needed. Combined with improved pattern printing that supports mirroring and precise placement templates, your entire appliqué workflow is smoother from concept to stitch-out.

  • Convert open and closed shapes to appliqué with a few clicks
  • No rebuilding from scratch — works from existing artwork
  • Not limited to traditional satins and closed outlines
  • Remove appliqué and return to the original design anytime
Continue Digitizing
Continue Digitizing · New in Hatch 4

Keep digitizing right where you left off. No new objects. No resequencing.

Continue Digitizing lets you pick up where you left off on an existing object, adding new points and extending the stitch path seamlessly. For anyone who regularly edits and refines complex designs, this feature alone saves hours of rework every week. Come back to an object at any time and keep adding — great for continuous paths, redwork, swirls, and complex outlines.

  • Continue from the exit or entry point of any object
  • No new objects created, keeps stitch order clean
  • No resequencing needed, saving you valuable time
  • Works great for redwork, swirls, and outline stitching

Knife Tool
Knife Tool · Enhanced in Hatch 4

The Knife tool now has a dedicated shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+K), so if you use it regularly to cut and reshape embroidery objects, you can activate it instantly without hunting through toolbars.

  • New Ctrl+Shift+K shortcut for power users
  • Cut and separate shapes without leaving the keyboard
  • Same reliable Knife tool, faster to reach
  • Ideal for anyone who cuts shapes often while digitizing
Stitch Shortening
Stitch Shortening · Enhanced in Hatch 4

Smoother corners, with more control.

Stitch shortening is automatically applied to sharp corners to reduce stitch bunching on the inside edge. In Hatch 4 you can now turn this off for individual objects via Object Properties > Effects, giving you finer control over how corners stitch out.

  • Reduces stitch bunching on tight, sharp corners automatically
  • Turn shortening off per object via Object Properties > Effects
  • Finer control for objects that need different treatment
  • Cleaner results straight out of digitizing
Automatic Connectors & Trims
Connectors & Trims · Enhanced in Hatch 4

Cleaner stitch paths with fewer manual adjustments.

Improved automatic connectors and trims mean less manual cleanup after digitizing. You can now more precisely define how objects are connected, choosing between jump or run connectors and setting thresholds for when tie-ins, tie-offs, and trims are applied — for cleaner, more efficient stitch-outs.

  • Improved automatic connector routing
  • Choose between jump or run connectors with custom thresholds
  • Refined tie-in and tie-off options for better stitch security
  • Reduces manual post-digitizing cleanup
Stop Function
Stop Function · New in Hatch 4

Your machine stops exactly when you need it. No color change. No trim.

Insert stops anywhere in your stitch sequence to pause the machine without forcing a color change or trim. No more workarounds with unnecessary color changes just to force a stop — ideal for in-the-hoop projects, multi-step designs, and multi-needle machines.

  • Stop the machine at any stitch point, no forced color change
  • Fewer workarounds means a cleaner, simpler stitch sequence
  • Ideal for in-the-hoop projects and multi-step designs
  • Compatible with machines and formats that support Stop function

  • New Reshape Views toolbar for selective control-point display
  • Show or hide reshape nodes, stitch angles, entry/exit points
  • Easier to edit complex, multi-object designs
  • Less visual clutter while reshaping

Trim & Connector Display
Trim & Connector Display · Enhanced in Hatch 4

See your connectors, clearly, before you stitch.

The Show Design options let you toggle the on-screen display of connecting stitches and machine functions like trims and tie-offs, helping you check a design before stitchout. • Easier to check a design before you stitch it out
  • Fully customizable via Background and Display Colors

  • Change background and display colors together in one place

  • Improved Gradient Fill profile naming for faster selection
  • Vary stitch spacing from dense to open in one fill
  • Apply or exclude the effect on any object via the Context menu
