The upgrade process is straightforward:

• Sign in to your Hatch account at profile.hatchembroidery.com
• Your personalized upgrade price is displayed automatically
• Complete the purchase
• Download and install Hatch 4 from the download page in your account
• Sign in to the new installation with your existing email and password
• Your Hatch 3 license will deactivate automatically within 14 days

Yes — all designs, machine files, and thread files created in earlier versions of Hatch open and edit in Hatch 4 without any changes, provided they are stored in the default folder locations.

If you have saved designs to custom or non-default folders, those files remain exactly where they are. You may need to update the folder paths within Hatch 4's Design Explorer to point to those locations.

Yes. Your Hatch 3 license remains fully active during the Hatch 4 download and installation process. You have a 14-day window after installing Hatch 4 before your Hatch 3 license is automatically deactivated.

This means you won't be left without software while transitioning. There is no need to rush the migration.

Yes. Upgrade pricing is available from all previous versions — Hatch 1, 2, and 3 — and all levels. Sign in to your Hatch account and your personalized upgrade price will be displayed. If your account doesn't show an upgrade option or you have difficulty, contact support.

You can install Hatch Embroidery on any number of computers, and activate your license on up to 3 machines simultaneously. Your license allows use by one person at a time — if you sign in and use Hatch on one machine, access is paused on any others until that session ends.

To install on a new computer:

• Download and install Hatch Embroidery on the new machine from hatchembroidery.com/download
• Sign in with your existing email and password — the license activates automatically
• Manually transfer any custom design files and assets from your old computer to the new one

To free up one of your 3 activation slots — for example to activate on a fourth machine — open Hatch Embroidery on an already-activated machine and choose Sign Out & Exit when closing. This releases that activation back to the cloud so it can be used on another machine.

Your existing design templates are generally preserved during an upgrade. However, if you have made custom changes to the default 'Normal' template, these changes may be overwritten when you install or update Hatch 4.
